Sweet Joe Pye Weed

Sweet Joe Pye Weed (Eutrochium purpureum) is a perennial forb native to Eastern and Central US states (such as Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, and Iowa) that can thrive in USDA Zones 4–9. Reaching a mature height of 4–7 feet with a tall upright clumping growth habit, it features whorled, vanilla-scented green leaves and produces broad, domed clusters of pale pink to mauve flowers. It thrives in rich, moist woodland borders, floodplains, and damp meadows and is ideal for riparian habitat restoration, wetland edge buffer zones, and monarch butterfly conservation.
