Sweet Black-Eyed Susan

Sweet Black-Eyed Susan (Rudbeckia subtomentosa) is a perennial forb native to Midwestern US states (such as Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, and Wisconsin) that can thrive in USDA Zones 4–8. Reaching a mature height of 3–5 feet with an upright branching growth habit, it features anise-scented, three-lobed green leaves and produces bright yellow daisy-like flowers with dark brown central cones. It thrives in moist prairies, savanna borders, and stream banks and is ideal for tallgrass prairie conservation, naturalized buffer strips, and pollinator corridors.
