Seed Box

Seedbox (Ludwigia alternifolia) is a perennial forb native to Eastern and Central US states (such as Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, and Florida) that can thrive in USDA Zones 4–8. Reaching a mature height of 2–3 feet with an upright branching growth habit, it features lance-shaped green leaves and produces bright yellow four-petaled flowers followed by cube-shaped, box-like seed pods. It thrives in wet meadows, marshes, and ditch margins and is ideal for wetland restoration, retention basin planting, and native pollinator habitat.
