Rough Blazingstar

Rough Blazing Star (Liatris aspera) is a perennial forb native to Central and Eastern US states (such as Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Texas) that can thrive in USDA Zones 3–8. Reaching a mature height of 2–4 feet with an upright unbranched growth habit, it features narrow, rough green leaves and produces button-like, fluffy rose-purple flower heads along an erect spike. It thrives in dry, sandy prairies, rocky slopes, and open woods and is ideal for prairie restoration, roadside plantings, and native pollinator support.
