Rice Cut Grass

Rice Cut Grass (Leersia oryzoides) is a perennial grass native to US states nationwide (such as Minnesota, New York, Louisiana, and Oregon) that can thrive in USDA Zones 3–10. Reaching a mature height of 2–4 feet with a sprawling to upright rhizomatous growth habit, it features rough, razor-sharp green leaf blades and produces open, nodding, pale green panicles. It thrives in wet soils, shallow water, and mudflats and is ideal for wetland habitat enhancement, shoreline stabilization, and waterfowl foraging zones.
