Obedient Plant (False Dragonhead)

Obedient Plant (Physostegia virginiana) is a perennial forb native to Central and Eastern US states (such as Minnesota, Illinois, Missouri, and Georgia) that can thrive in USDA Zones 3–9. Reaching a mature height of 2–4 feet with an upright spreading rhizomatous growth habit, it features square stems, dark green serrated leaves, and produces tall spikes of pink to snapdragon-like purple flowers. It thrives in moist prairies, stream margins, and damp ditches and is ideal for wetland buffer enhancement, stream bank restoration, and pollinator corridors.
