New Jersey Tea

New Jersey Tea (Ceanothus americanus) is a perennial shrub native to Eastern and Central US states (such as Massachusetts, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Missouri) that can thrive in USDA Zones 4–8. Reaching a mature height of 2–3 feet with a low, rounded bushy growth habit, it features dull green, finely toothed leaves and produces fluffy, fragrant clusters of small white flowers. It thrives in dry, rocky, or sandy soils in full sun to light shade and is ideal for slope stabilization, prairie margin restoration, and highway beautification.
