Pycnanthemum virginianum
Virginia Mountain Mint (Pycnanthemum virginianum) is a perennial forb native to Eastern and Midwestern US states (such as New York, Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin) that can thrive in USDA Zones 3–8. Reaching a mature height of 2–3 feet with an upright bushy growth habit, it features mint-scented, lance-shaped green leaves and produces dense, flat-topped clusters of small white flowers with purple spots. It thrives in moist prairies, wet meadows, and stream margins and is ideal for wetland restoration, riparian buffer zones, and pollinator habitat enhancement.
