Monkey Flower (Square Stemmed)

Square-stemmed Monkeyflower (Mimulus ringens) is a perennial forb native to Eastern and Central US states (such as Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ohio, and North Carolina) that can thrive in USDA Zones 3–8. Reaching a mature height of 1–3 feet with an upright branching growth habit, it features distinctly square stems, lance-shaped green leaves, and produces blue-violet snapdragon-like flowers. It thrives in wet soils, riverbanks, and marsh margins and is ideal for wetland restoration, stream bank stabilization, and pollinator conservation.
